Having heard that there would be a Mirrodin Besieged Game Day in Iloilo, I was ecstatic. It will be the first time Iloilo will have a Game Day and would enable us to gain access to some juicy textless cards like Treasure Mage for joining the event and Black Sun’s Zenith for the top 8 finishers. In addition to the prizes, some cool freebies were also given to the participants such as a handy Mirrodin Besieged card box printed with a fantastic art of the Crusaders, as well as a collector’s item of 10-sided poison counter dice.

I ended up on the top 4 of the event and was happy to unwrap our fourth Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas aka Rob Zombie for my pool from my free packs. It was a great experience and I was craving for more! It was like a drug, believe me!

A total of 15 players battled it out for the Mirrodin Besieged Prerelease pass prize for first place. Here’s this week’s Saturday Standard top 4 decks.

Winning last year’s Magic Iloilo Championships 2009 year-ender tournament was truly a memorable experience for me. I was not expecting to win the whole thing at all since I lack preparation particularly in playtesting and I lack some cards in my deck. I resorted to borrowing a Junk deck from Bossing Lori and luckily, I ended up as the tournament’s champion. Well, that was last year and it was history.

Thanks to our local TO’s Franz, Rei, and Makoy, Magic Iloilo Championships 2010 was made possible. It was announced months earlier and it gave me extra time to prepare for the said event. Time is always aloof for me as I am always trying to find a free time to playtest, plus joining the weekly tournament was not easy, given that I’m busy with work as well as my schooling. My only outlet was to play MWS at magic-league if I could find some spare time.

Here are the top 8 decklists of 2010′s Magic: The Gathering Iloilo Championships.

Hi all. It has been a while since the last post with discussions in it. As you may have noticed, we have installed new template. A big thanks to Mao for that one. Also, the weekly tournaments has been added an additional schedule every Sundays which started last October 31, 2010. The venue is at JAQs bar at Smallville complex and starts every Sunday afternoon at 3pm. That’s three days of mana-tapping pleasure for you guys.

Going back, this post is a summary discussion of the three tournaments held last weekend (Nov. 12 to 14, 2010). To recall, here are the winners and the decks they’ve piloted.
