Vampires Real Deal in ISD Standard
Yes, I am talking about this deck archetype all over again. Innistrad introduced Vampires as one of its themes so you can’t blame me. Blame Kibler instead, just kidding. The archetype is obviously aggro though as what I see is it can be made midrange-ish, because of high casting critters like Bloodline Keeper and the Vaasgoth bloodlord.

The rotation of Zendikar opened the Standard metagame again for new decks innovation. In particular, existing decks left in the Scars of Mirrodin block will get a chance to shine and new archetypes will emerge out of the recently released big set, Innistrad. This article is not about those two though, as I will focus on an archetype that been existing since the early years of Magic.

The recent release of the core set Magic 2011 offered us new options for a tribe-type deck. Vampires replaced its lord Nocturnus with a captivating one, though I still go for the first one as evation is much preferred rather than permanent +1/+1 pump. The new set also offered a lord, Knight Exemplar, for the new tribe for white. The powerful ability of giving indestructibility to its kins (as well as the +1/+1 boost) gave me an idea of checking the rest of the Knights in the current Standard format.
